Initially a seven-member group, linking up through mutual friends, BL introduced themselves with their freshman album, “The Pimp Bones LP” in ’04, with their lead single, ‘Star’ in heavy radio rotation nationally and throughout the United Kingdom. Considered a Chicago ballroom hustle classic, “Star” was voted Detroit’s #1 song, receiving both a Detroit Hip Hop and Spudd in the Hood Award in 2005. Black Lagoon may also be an incorrect artist tag for the soundtrack to a Japanese manga and an anime TV series created by Rei Hiroe.
