There are multiple groups known as Black Iris. 1) BLACK IRIS is a 9, formerly 11 member Japanese boygroup. The group originaly planed to have 5 member and debuted with 7 member in May 2019 with Maki, Shota, Go, Rayto, Hiro, Rio and Takuya. Member Shohei, Shion, Ayumu and Sen joined the group in August 2020. Ayumu and Rayto left the group shortly after their song 'Head Shot' came out in January 2022. In 2023 Rayto returned to the group and Shota decided to leave the group. Before debut Maki used to be member of a boygroup called YsR where also Ayumu used to be a member. In the time between both groups Ayumu used to work as background dancer for different artists as for example BTS. Rayto used to be member of a boygroup that was called GRiT and Sen used to be in a group that was called RE:BRE FUNTOS. The group origianly debuted without having an agency. In the end of 2021 they switched to Warner Music Japan as their curent company. 2) Black Iris, is a label and bicoastal music collective of musicians, some based in Virginia working within the advertising and entertainment industry. Projects they've been involved with range from commercial soundtracks for soft drinks, gas guzzling carmakers and electronics manufacturing giants.to the theme music for Al Gore's Alliance For Climate Protection organization (www.wecansolveit.org).
