Taken from www.blackdali.com/ Black Dali charge for a seat on the throne with their debut EP, Mad King. Seven years and countless performances after the band’s inception, the four-piece hard rockers out of Indianapolis, IN – Adam Stoner (vocals, guitar), Dustin Webster (guitar, vocals), Casimir Gellizeau (bass), and Jeremy McCombs (drums) – run the gauntlet from soulful melodies and riffs to in-your- face, smash-mouth rock on the self-released, five-track effort. Recorded and produced by Tim Patenaude at The Fallout Shelter and mixed and mastered by Brian “Bone” Thorburn at Threshold Studios, Mad King, released Spring 2015, delivers a heavy dose of raucous, chunky guitars amidst catchy vocal melodies, thunderous drums, and driving bass lines. The EP’s title track hints at Metallica-esque, metal influences, while tracks like “Color Theory” and “A Parent” highlight Black Dali’s “softer” side with clean guitar intros and vocals transitioning to full-band rock pieces. “Knots” has a driving rhythm with tempo changes matching the mood of the lines Stoner is singing, and the fifth track, “The Blue Line,” is an aggressive, up-tempo metal jam. As the musical texture changes throughout Mad King, one constant is Stoner’s artful lyrics, which delve into dark corners of his personal experiences. Black Dali began in 2008 as a solo project for Stoner. On MySpace, BD rose to number 16 on the Top Unsigned charts. The music gained hundreds of plays a day and over a million in a year. Stoner m
