about

Black Barn Music (or just BBM) was born in 2003 in the countryside of Sao Paulo, Brazil. It consists of Andre Z. Pagnossim, a bedroom, a microphone, some instruments, a 4-track cassette recorder and a computer. BBM takes traditional country and folk songs from the past and adds up elements of electronica and ambient music, among others. All wrapped up in lo-fi plastic bags. Finally, after four years and one EP, Black Barn Music releases its first full-length album, titled "Carnival Nights". It was entirely recorded at Black Barn Studio (actually, Andre´s bedroom), using a bunch of instruments, synths and old movies samples. Different from earlier works (which was more like "singer/songwriter" folk stuff), some new songs are instrumental and blends the sound of acoustic guitar with loops and dream-like synths. The album can be downloaded free of charge here in last.fm: http://www.last.fm/music/Black+Barn+Music/Carnival+Nights+%282007%29 More info and contact: http://www.myspace.com/blackbarnmusic User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
