"Dear Paul, tell us what's this band like?" Well, I figure there’s a lot to tell about a band that originally started somewhere in the early 8ties and managed to make just one album in -count 'm- 20 years. I could talk about the why & how of recording your own music. About what it’s like to have three brothers in one band. About what it’s like to supposedly have a ‘Dutch cultclassic’ under your belts. I could talk about stageperformance, or total lack of it. About working from an extremely low-profile point of view yet being pretty passionate about music itself, and what it’s like to make music in a small (like; really small) town in Holland and how to not be a coverband. Combining family-lives with musical careers might be an interesting story to tell too. Heck, private affairs! Ritske's recordbreaking toilet-visits, Peter doing a solo-record under the name of Plover (and how some of his hometape-noodlings ended up on that one Birdskin album). And Sjors, the quiet one (the really quiet one). I could also reminisce about the pre-internet days of small labels, fanzines, independent promoters and musicfreaks, when friend of the band meant you actually did drink a couple of beers with ‘m. I almost could get nostalgic about faxes, phones and/or paper letters, if it wasn’t for the fact that I hate nostalgia. I could also talk about Belgian labelbosses, upside-down parrots, Mission Of Burma, cows and Mike, the leader of the Great Achieves. But hey, we don’t have time for all that
