THROUGH HARD WORK, PASSION OF CRAFT in the writing, playing, and recording of music year after year, and the dedication to working with some of Philly’s finest, Birdie Busch has made her best effort, entitled Birdie Busch and the Greatest Night. While the group that makes up Birdie Busch and the Greatest Night have toured and recorded a lot together in the past year, this was the first project that allowed them all to devote a week to focused recording, arranging and experimenting.Recorded at Dr. Dog’s studio by suggestion after a Spring 2012 run with them of the Northeast, it was engineered by Nathan Sabatino (Be the Void). Coming out of what could be called a veritable renaissance that has put Philadelphia back at the top of the list of America’s music capitals with acts like Dr. Dog, War on Drugs, Santigold, Amos Lee,Kurt Vile, and many more Birdie Busch joins other talented locals and partners in crime in creating a tight-knit community that seeks to make great music, inspire people, and bring it to the world. “Best recording experience ever” says Birdie, “We recorded the band live, with all the instruments leaking and the band just peaking. These guys are all my best friends and I admire them immensely for their lifelong dedication to making music and that’s really what binds us, that unspoken acknowledgment.
