1.Birdcatcher started off as a solo project of keyboard player Roel Spanjers in 2004, but since then has been extended to a full-time band. The three other band members are his brother Erik Spanjers on drums, Arwen Linneman on bass and Gabriël Peeters on guitar. Before Birdcatcher, Roel Spanjers was a session musician for various US based blues and soul artists, and a steady force in JW Roy's One Night Band. After the split-up of the One Night Band, they regrouped as The Sunset Travelers with the addition of Nico Heilijgers on bass. In this setup they recorded one album, For The Sake Of It. In the years 2004 and 2005, over various recording sessions, the foundation was laid for Birdcatcher's debut album, released in spring 2006. The album was greeted with critical acclaim, and was followed by a small tour through the Netherlands, with before-mentioned band members. In this setup, recording has started for the next album. 2.
