about

Starting in Turakina, New Zealand, the history of the Bing Turkby Ensemble spans 6 Phases. We are currently experiencing Phase 6, the lineup of which comprises Bing on geetar, yelling, accordion and trombone; Tyrone T. Blowhard on sax; Mustachio de la Sexface on bass; The Hungarian Thunder on drums. This lineup plays wacky, rowdy pop rock to anyone who’ll listen. The Ensemble began in 1996 as Bing instigated a side project from his first band Simnock on Steel. The Nockers did ignorant rock very well, but Bing wanted to try his hand at a heavy pop rock kind of thing. Unfortunately everything came out as skewed pop tomfoolery, but he soon learned to love it. The Phase 1 Ensemble consisted of Bing and a tape deck. Adding members over the years, Bing has produced a lot of CDs along the way.The Bing Turkby Ensemble lives and performs in Palmerston North, New Zealand.
