The Bilge Festival were a band based in Wellington, New Zealand featuring Tim Robinson, Jim Jonkers, Peter George Daube, MJ Clump - now disbanded. Signed to Wildside Records (NZ Indie Label) in the mid to late 90's they released two albums, the beloved "Cape Goat" (in '94 featuring the "He's the Mummy" and "Wilderbeast A Gogo") and "The Shrimp Boats" (in '96 featuring "She Wrecked My Hand" and "Gut") along with a single and EP. The Bilge Festival were associated with other locals acts such as Short, Head Like a Whole, and The Conventional Toasters and only toured the country a couple of times. They were abrasive, brash and groovy all at the same time, and were well renowned for their live shows. Stand out shows included Orientation (playing with Short and Dinosaur Jr) and supporting Canadian band "Rhymes with Orange" on their "Trapped in the Machine" album release tour (1994). * baby monk girl ep [1992 surge music] * cape goat [1994 wildside D24032] * 'pave it over' cd single [1995 wildside 1175] * the shrimp boats [1997 wildside D31464] User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
