Big Band Splash is based in Stockholm, Sweden. They play classic soul/r&b/souljazz with a full big band horn section. Leader, arranger and producer is saxophonist Jakob Norgren. In 2010 they released the album "Another Apple" featuring John Németh, Greta Bondesson, Sven Zetterberg and Marino Valle. Two albums were previously released under the name Jakob Norgren Big Band Splash (2005 & 2007). The music then was a mix of contemporary jazz, soul and even some electronica. From 2010 the name of the band is just Big Band Splash, and focus is on soul/r&b/souljazz. (The nujazz stuff now appears under the name The Emersons).
