Big Bad Mutha Fuka has been described by its original compiler as a "multi-hour extravaganza of Black Action Cinema Scores and Themes". Originally compiled by one self-named blogger "RecordBrother", the album was an idea that was pitched to an undisclosed record label, only to be rejected after being told that a similar compilation was in the process of being released. RecordBrother later explains that the compilation album that did result turned out to be another generic attempt at capturing the music of this genre. As a result, on January 9th 2006, the first instalment in a three part series was posted on the RecordBrother blog with a little over 30 music files in the mp3 format without a tracklist. One that he mentioned earlier having taken to the label company but having later misplaced. Shortly after, the second and third volumes were posted making a total of 88 tracks in the series. RecordBrother stated that although he was unable to fetch the original song list, all the music featured on this compilation was sourced from the original Blaxploitation soundtrack vinyls that were a part of the blogger's collection. After repeated listens one can ascertain that the music has been handpicked from a variety of movies spanning over a large portion of the era.
