Besmaya is a Spanish indie-pop duo founded in February 2020 by friends Javier "Javi" Echávarri and Javier "Javi" Ojanguren. Both are from Santander, Spain, and have known each other since childhood. The group's name, "Besmaya," is derived from a military base in Iraq where Ojanguren's mother was once stationed. The band's musical style is characterized by a blend of alternative and electronic pop, incorporating instrumental and sampled sounds. Since their formation, they have released several works, including their self-titled debut EP in 2022 and their first studio album, Nuevos Lemas, in 2024. Besmaya has also collaborated with other artists. Their collaborations include the song "lo que haga falta" with Hey Kid and Inazio, as well as a track with Iñigo Quintero titled "El Tiempo Que Paso Contigo."
