Artist
Bernie Nolan is known for her great singing and acting. Bernie was born in Dublin in 1960, Bernie began her career as one of The Nolan Sisters. The Nolan Sister's great success took them around the world and to the top of the charts. In 1994, after leaving the band, Bernie's acting career took off. Burnie's stage performances include the starring role in the musical adaptation of Dennis Wheatley's Tale of the Occult; The Devil Rides Out; and productions of City of Angels, The Sound of Music and My Fair Lady. She also played Mrs Johnston in Blood Brothers for almost 3 years and made her West End debut in this production. Bernie's break into television came whilst touring in Liverpool with Blood Brothers. She was offered the role of Diane Murray in the Channel Four soap, Brookside, which earned her several award nominations during her 2½ year stint with the show. This, however, is her first uniformed role and Bernie "feels like a kid playing at dressing up! All the police business, such as arresting criminals, and driving the police cars is all really great fun too. I'm really enjoying the role." Bernie lives with her husband Steve, a drummer, and their 3½ year old daughter Erin. Bernie was flattered to know she has two tribute bands 'Inspiration - A Nolans Tribute' and 'Kylie & Kezza - A Tribute To And Inspired By Bernie Nolan'. They each have websites: www.inspiration-anolanstribute.cjb.net and www.geocities.com/kylie_and_kezza User-contributed text is available under
