Bernd Gerhard Clüver (* April 10, 1948, in Hildesheim; † July 28, 2011, in Palma, Spain) was a German schlager singer. Bernd Clüver studied law for five semesters at the University of Heidelberg after completing his high school diploma and military service. During this time, he was already dedicated to music. Artistic Career Clüver's singing career began at the Talentschuppen during the 1971 Funkausstellung in Berlin. In September 1971, he signed a record deal with Hansa. His first appearance on the ZDF-Hitparade came in May 1972 with the song Sie kommt wieder. On January 20, 1973, managed by Klaus-Peter Schulenberg, he introduced the song Der Junge mit der Mundharmonika, which became his first number-one hit. This was a German cover of the Spanish number-one hit El chico de la armónica by Micky, released in February 1973. The single sold over 500,000 copies in Germany and more than a million worldwide by 1974. With Der kleine Prinz, Clüver achieved another number-one success in the same year, selling another million copies in Germany. Both songs, written by Peter Orloff, became some of the best-selling schlager hits in Germany. Clüver had two more top-10 hits with Bevor du einschläfst and Das Tor zum Garten der Träume. At the peak of his career in 1974, he also starred in the schlager film Zwei im siebenten Himmel, although it was not very successful. By 1979, he placed four more songs in the charts.
