Bernd & Bernd were founded in 2003 in Minden, Germany by P.A.T.K. members Kreuzi (voc/gui) and Die Prinzessin (bas) and Hepcats-Drummer Kalle Montana. Soon they recorded their first single ...und sie nannten ihn Bernd/...und die Fritöse war noch warm. It was planned to end the band here, but after they played as support for P.A.T.K. the fans went crazy for them. Their overdressed working class gimmick and the song ...und sie nannten ihn Bernd (shorty called Arbeiterklasse (working class)) became very popular in the local music scene. Bernd & bernd were layed on ice anyway after their members left their current bands and formed Havanna including Dr.Kongo and Schlürfer from the Mini Playback Penners. After the band broke up one year later Bernd & Bernd officially reformed and recorded their first album Heftige Lustknaben schmeißen viel Brot inn Pöbel. In September 2005 Die Prinzessin left Bernd & Bernd. New bassist became Stefan Braunschmidt who played in Nevervoid. Dr. Kongo became vocalist so that Kreuzi could concentrate on his guitar skills. In the summer of 2006 they released their second album Armee der Freunde and announced to take a break after that. Stefan Braunschmidt left the band to concentrate on Nevervoid, a new bassist has yet to be announced.
