BERANEK- Norwegian artist/musician, born 1960. His debut single “Dra Te Hælvete” (“Go To Hell”), spent almost 6 months on the national charts in 1981, and caused controversy when the song was banned by national TV/radio channel NRK. Beranek’s debut album “Sound of Danger”, released the same year, found favour among collectors of minimal synth music. Beranek released several more albums and singles throughout the 80s and the first half of the 90s, often collaborating with other musicians such as The Stranglers’ bass player JJ Burnel, but usually playing most of the instruments himself. Beranek´s first release in nearly 20 years, “Sensitive Dependence”, is scheduled for release in October 2013. The news of Beranek re-entering the pop/rock scene stirred a lot of attention in Norway, with coverage in the prime time news on National TV. The good news is that the synthesizer is alive and well in the service of pop music in 2013.
