Benyamin Sueb (1939 - 1995) was born in the district of Kemayoran, Jakarta, Indonesia at March 5th, 1939. He is a legendary artist in Indonesia, recognized as an accomplished artist in the film, music, and television industries, with countless songs and films. Always proud of his heritage, he was also one of the artist who promoted the Gambang Kromong, a musical genre of his native Betawi to mainstream music in Indonesia. Most of his songs are original soundtracks of his motion pictures.
