A Bangkok native, Bencharong Thanakoset studied the soprano fiddle with Plung and Plai Wanakhejorn who taught her until she became a very skilled musician at a young age. After that, she learned the art of music used in puppet shows with Lamom Israngkura Na Ayudhya, and underwent training with Luang Praditpairoh and Jangwang Tua Patayakosol until she mastered the different types of music used in various forms of plays. She also passed on the art of Thai classical music by laying the foundations for music curricula at public and private educational institutes. She preserved ancient Thai classical songs by recording them and performing them on radio and television. In recognition of her dedication to Thai classical music, Rajamangkala Institute Bangkok granted her an honorary degree in arts.
