Ben Sinclair is a writer/musician who came of age in that great magical armpit of northern California called Santa Cruz. He was birthed in the redwood town of Guerneville and incubated further on the island of Alameda. His most current work is filed under LIL BEN (www.last.fm/music/Lil+Ben) -- a producer, musician and vocalist who ties his varying friends and tastes together digitally. Ben's working on new beats and working on an industrial act with mixed-media artist Adam Harms, while preparing a new collection of his own fiction and a lit zine with two other writers. He's also contributing editorial duties Sonic Experimental Labs collective in East Oakland. Halfway through his first year at UCSC he started recording on his dorm room PC. In many ways this was a good idea. In others it contributed to his taking five years to graduate. He tried hip-hop beats at first, which were cool in and of themselves, but seemed weird enough at the time to poke him in another direction. Four years later that NY's KOOL A.D. completed Kool Kwiet Emerson & The Rhodera Present THAT OTHER OTHER SHIT with six of the original beats.
