UK-born Ben Randall came to wider attention in 2008 when he won the "most promising young guitarist" title at the inaugural 'Guitar Idol', an internet-based competition that attracted more than 700 international entrants. Since that time he has continued to produce his own music and promotional videos for his guitar sponsor, the Mayones company of Poland. Several of these guitar demos have received thousands of hits on YouTube. For a short period in 2009/10 Ben joined the established UK power metallers Power Quest and toured with the legendary Michael Schenker. Ben's next project was 'Code Of Silence with Paul Logue (Eden's Curse, James LaBrie) and Gus Monsanto (Adagio, Takara). 'Dark Skies Over Babylon' was released in 2013. A retrospective of Ben's work over a ten year period was released in April 2021 by Thoroughbred Music. 'Before The Rain' includes various collaborations with bands like Chasing The Monsoon and 25 Yard Screamer. Ben's influences include guitarists like John Norum (Europe), John Petrucci (Dream Theater) and Neal Schon (Journey) but his taste and technique shows a remarkable maturity for his age and his own unique voice.
