Ben followed a classic path to underground electronic music. During his childhood, he was introduced to piano and therefore developed a strong musical ear early in life. Later on, he moved to bass guitar and played in several bands before his first contact with electronic music. In 2002, he attended a psychedelic trance party in Calgary and was immediately seduced by the electric vibe and massive energy levels of that music. He went through a first period marked by intense and contrasting musical styles: psytrance and breaks. After a time spent partying and exploring the scene, the idea occurred to him that he could use his talents to create the music professionally. After moving back to his native East Coast, he studied recording arts in school, where he acquired solid notions of raw sound and technical recording and started experimenting with Ableton Live, a tool that would eventually become his primary production and performance tool. It was at this point that he joined the Calgary based Area709, which helped his music reach a wider audience. After his graduation, he moved to Montreal, attracted by the musical quality of the party scene there. By that time, he was influenced by slower, heavier styles of music: pure techno, minimal and progressive trance to name a few.
