Artist
Ben "Slork" Jorgensen (born July 4, 1983 in Teaneck, New Jersey) is the lead singer and guitarist of New Jersey band Armor for Sleep . He wrote the first Armor for Sleep songs during the summer after his first year in college and recorded them as a demo CD for $100 at a local recording studio, playing all the instruments himself. He lives in Teaneck, NJ and is of German, Danish, and Japanese descent. Prior to forming Armor for Sleep, he was the drummer for punk band Random Task. He made a cameo appearance in the music videos for "Dance, Dance" and "The City Is At War," playing alongside Pete Wentz as a policeman. Following Armor for Sleep's disbandment in 2009 (Reunited 2020), Jorgensen started an electronic project with Sierra Shardae, named God Loves a Challenge, which only released an unnamed EP of various tracks. Jorgensen recorded a solo EP There Is Nowhere Left to Go at Treehouse Studios in Jersey City, NJ, and it was released October 5, 2010 through digital download. He then performed his debut solo show at Bowery Electric in New York, NY on November 24, 2010 along with The Moxy and followed that up with a performance at Angels & Kings, also in New York City, on November 30. The set list consisted of new songs and a cover of "Ordinary World." In January 2011 he went on a 7-date Australian tour playing solo songs as well as Armor for Sleep songs ranging as far back as "My Town."
