There are more than one artist that go by the name Ben Green. The biographies of two of them are below. I. Ben Green Born and raised in New York City, Ben Green started playing piano at age 3 and writing songs by age 9. While attending Skidmore College, Ben played the folk clubs of Saratoga Springs, NY until the late, great Lena Spencer of Caffe Lena's encouraged him to pursue a career as a recording artist. Several years of making demos and playing around NYC led to signing a publishing deal with EMI in 1990 and an artist deal with the ill fated SBK records. Ben enjoyed success as a songwriter, having his work covered by R&B great Buddy Miles and sax soloist Warren Hil. He also wrote and performed the title song for the Rob Lowe movie, The Finest Hour .
