Formed in Bergerac, Dordogne, France in 1993. Despite popular belief, Belkètre, Zelda and Chapel of Ghouls were never intended as the evolution of a long standing entity but rather as a three completely different bands. Their lyrics focus on themes like despair, disgust and hatred. Belketre belonged to "The Black Legions" (Les Légions Noires) along with Mütiilation, Torgeist, Vlad Tepes and Brenoritvrezorkre. They released four demos and a split with Vlad Tepes between 1993 and 1996. Before they split-up the band consisted of the two members Aäkon Këëtrëh and Vordb Dréagvor Uèzréèvb (aka Avaëthre).
