Formed under the name Chapel of Ghouls in Bergerac, Dordogne, France in 1989, became Zelda in 1991 and finally Belketre around 1992. Their lyrics focus on themes like despair, disgust and hatred. Belketre belonged to the "Black Legions" (Légions Noires) along with Mütiilation, Torgeist, Vlad Tepes and Brenoritvrezorkre. They released four demos and a split with Vlad Tepes between 1993 and 1996. Before they split-up the band consisted of the two members Aäkon Këëtrëh and Vordb Dreagvor Uezeerb (aka Avaëthre).
