Artist
Born in Budapest in 1954, the Hungarian violist Bela Banfalvi at an early age discovered the violin. He studied at the Liszt Academy, and after completing his studies there, he changed roles and joined the teaching staff. In 1979 he became the leader of the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra untill in 1982 he joined the Bartok String Quartet. In 1985 he left them again, to lead the Budapest Strings, a chamber orchestra. Both with them as well as solo, he toured many countries in Europe, as well as Japan and the USA.
