Bears in Congress are a rock band from Louisville, KY formed in December 2012. While their sound is most commonly referred to as psychedelic rock, the band delivers music that fuses many genres of music including jazz and funk. The band consists of Casey Powell (vocals, guitar), Daniel Henderson (guitar), Jake Toloczko (bass), and Jake Long (percussion). They are heavily influenced by sounds from the sixties and seventies (The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Jimi hendrix) as well as other acts from all time periods. In their music, Bears in Congress show off their musical talent in a way that encompasses their influences while maintaining a modern sound. Bears in Congress are currently working on a self-released demo and will most likely have an EP out near the end of 2013.
