Beady Eye was an English rock band formed in London in 2009 by former Oasis members Liam Gallagher (vocals), Gem Archer (guitar), Andy Bell (guitar) and Chris Sharrock (drums). The group was established following the departure of Oasisβ lead guitarist and principal songwriter Noel Gallagher in August 2009. After his exit, the remaining members chose to continue under a new name. The bandβs initial bassist was Jeff Wootton, who left in 2013 and was replaced by former Kasabian guitarist Jay Mehler. Beady Eye released two studio albums, "Different Gear, Still Speeding" in 2011 and "BE" in 2013. Both albums reached the top five of the UK Albums Chart. Their only UK top 40 single was "The Roller", which peaked at number 31. Beady Eye disbanded in October 2014, as announced by Liam Gallagher. Following the split, Gallagher began a solo career with Mehler serving as a session musician. Gem Archer and Chris Sharrock later joined Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, while Andy Bell returned to his earlier band, Ride, after they reunited.
