Everything starts with the Doi-Codi in 1988, but not the militar police of subversive repression from Brasil's recent past, but the band of Demétrius and Cláudio who lived in the same bulding and studies at the San José Colégio. Both have the same age, many musical afinities and becouse the name used, they beggins to receive some media attention. But depite this press attentions they decided to change theyr name : being Flintstones and them start to be professionals (that's in 1990). The Beach Lizards come out of the sand at the beggining of 1991. The name come trought a newspaper editorial witch talks about the little pet above. Almost extincted the Lizard from the Beach today is just found at beachs in the south of Rio de Janeiro. The line up was Demétrius (lead vocal), Cláudio and Marcos (guitars), Laercio (bass) and Túlio (drums) they do a heavy sound, with lots of influences of punk rock and heavy metal!!! After few gigs, they start to form their own public and with some music they recorded and release their 1st. demotape - Piercing Ears with 4 songs. Heavy songs with melodies! Now they book more shows, now in better and bigger places as Garage and the Circo Voador and their songs played at Rádio Fluminense FM. But depite all is going fine, and before almost an year playing toghether, Túlio decide to quit and Marcos whose is not very interested leaves the band too.
