Who the @*&$ are Bax & O’Brien? Mike Baxendale and John O’Brien have been the hosts of the insanely popular Bax & O’Brien Show on WAQY/Rock102 in Springfield, Massachusetts since 1995. The Bax & O’Brien Show is the most beloved radio show throughout Western Massachusetts, much of Connecticut, and Southern Vermont. Pull out a map! That covers a lot of ground. Bax & O’Brien have also staked a national reputation as well. Since 2008, the Bax & O’Brien Show has been ongoing members of “The Talkers 250” by Talkers Magazine. This is an annual list of “The most important Talk Radio shows in the country”. We’re not sure if this is a reflection of the flimsy state of Talk Radio or if we’re really that good. The Bax & O’Brien Show has been nominated by Radio & Records Magazine for Industry Achievement Awards on four separate occasions. Bax & O’Brien, along with producer Steve Nagle, have also received recognition for their tireless charitable work by the city of Springfield as well as both houses of the Massachusetts State Legislature. (That’s a fine use of their time.) Bax & O’Brien have interviewed hundreds of celebrities including: Senator Scott Brown, Gov.
