Batten Down Your Heart was a post-hardcore band from Yuba City/Marysville, California, United States. Northern California has always been renowned for its musical talent, and Batten Down Your Heart is no exception to this! In the past few months BDYH has defined themselves not only with distinguishing ability, but with their sheer, brutal energy. The band formed in 2009 and quickly made a name for themselves in the local scene, opening for touring bands such as; Drop Dead, Gorgeous, Sky Eats Airplane, Motionless In White and A Skylit Drive. In December of 2009 Batten Down Your Heart released a cover of IYAZ’s Replay that has brought them worldwide recognition with over 850,000 views on YouTube and Myspace. It was followed by a Spring 2010 release of their debut self-titled EP which has helped them redefine post-hardcore and metalcore in the local Sacramento scene. BDYH went on to cap off 2010 by playing a Warped Tour date on the Ernie Ball stage in Marysville, California, and winning a Sac Shows (Artery Foundation) LMA for Best Screamo/Post-Hardcore. With the release of their self-titled debut EP (produced by Bob Swanson at Mayhemness Studios), Batten Down Your Heart is a force to be reckoned with. The heavy drums, and sophisticated guitar harmonies bring a whole new tone to the hardcore scene. The vocals provided by their front-man, only known as “Blue” expose a vicious undertone.
