Basskraft is not Kraftwerk, but it could be. These folks did their homewerk. Their sole release is"A Bass Tribute to Kraftwerk. They know their Computer Love from their Computer World. "A Bass Tribute to Kraftwerk" is a CD of Kraftwerk covers, released in 1998, faithfully done, though a bit slower and with a bit more backbeat to its backbone. The bass is beautiful. It doesn't pulse hard--it has a nice round bottom that is part of the music instead of being painfully up front. Perhaps this might be a disappointment for some, but it wears nicely on the ears. So why buy Basskraft when you can hear the originals? Maybe to get all those great songs on one CD: "Autobahn," "Trans-Europe Express," "The Robots," and even the rare "Tour de France." --Bob Boilen User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
