Artist
Barefaced Cynics were formed in the autumn of 2009 after the three members drunkenly discussed creating some folk punk acoustic anthems. From their base in Hampshire they started working on original material inspired by the likes of Billy Bragg, Joe Strummer, The Gaslight Anthem, The Menzingers, Sundowner, Chuck Ragan, and Dispatch. Although they don’t take themselves too seriously, Barefaced Cynics like to comment on everyday ‘annoyances’ (e.g. office jobs, emo, being skint). They now have a healthy repertoire of tongue-in-cheek songs packed with catchy choruses and cheeky riffs. They recorded their first EP- Out Of Office Assistance- with Ed 'The Wizard' Spencer during the summer of 2010. In between playing some local gigs they hope to get back to recording new material very soon. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
