about

Barberos is an experimental rock band from Liverpool, United Kingdom. Combining an eclectic mix of genres, including the obvious drum fuelled polly-rhythmic electro thrashings, Barberos infuse elements of jazz, noise, dub, breakcore and prog, tribal-math double drumming led by flows of synth roaring, interrupted here and there by sidereal openings, wide-echoed progressive chords, accurately assembled rhythmic patterns, framed in heart racing theatrics using costume and projections to communicate their joyful danceable musings to their ever widening audience. They first performed in late 2008 and since then have been touring relentlessly throughout the United Kingdom and Western Europe. So far, they have have shared the stage with the likes of Charles Hayward (This Heat), Melt Banana, Kayo Dot, Tim Exile, Capillary Action, Ruins Alone, and other. The band's members have been involved over the last few years in a vast number of musical projects, including Stignoise, Stealing Sheep, Union Jacques, running Wet Room bookings and co running UPITUP Records. http://www.barberos.org User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
