Barbara Maria Willi is a German harpsichordist living in the Czech republic and belonging to the leading artists in the field of Early Music in Central Eurpoe. Having studied at the Mozartem Salzburg with Kenneth Gilbert, she won a "prix d´encouragement" at the harpsichord contest in 2005 in Brugges, Belgium. . She is living in Brno (Czech Republic) where she leads a harpsichord class at the Music University JAMU (Janaček Academy). She is cooperating with singers as Iva Bittová, Martina Janková, Magdalena Kožená and the tenor Markus Brutcher. She is currently playing with outstanding musicians and speciliasts of Early Music such as Erich Hoeprich, Erich Hoebarth, Sergio Azzolini and others. Her performances were heard in the Konzerthaus Vienna, in the philharmonies of Essen, Prague, Brno, Wroclaw, she is a well-seen guest of Prague´s most famous concert hall Rudolfinum and her recent recordings for ET CETERA and RAMEE won important prices (choc du monde de musique, decouverte). She is programme director of the International Music Festival Concentus Moraviae and runs an Early music concert series in Brno with great success.
