The Banana Peel Bluesband is the house band of the Banana Peel, a blues club in Belgium. Leader of the band is guitar player Willy De Vleeschouwer. Other members vary according to availability. They started as support act of international artists, performing at the Banana Peel. After some time, they played in clubs and festivals in Belgium and they toured with Canadian bluessinger Theresa Malenfant. In 1997 they recorded their first cd (Live at the Banana Peel). They still support artists in the Banana Peel blues club! Marino Noppe is a famous guitar player in Belgium. His band is called Maxwell Street (and exists 30 years !!). Last year he toured with James 'Super Chikan' Johnson in Belgium and the Netherlands. Noppe was also Lightning Guy's mentor and they played together in the band Mo' Rice.
