Banana Fish formed in 1991. In early 1992, the group released their only known album, "B.F", which sold somewhat well among the early indies visual circuit. In late 1992, original bassist Nagano left, and was soon replaced by Akira. The group continued to release some demos throughout 1992, and in February of 1993, Banana Fish appeared on the "Emergency Express '93 Shikaku wo Tsuke! (視覚を突け!)" omnibus. Later that August, the group appeared on the "Cry-Max Pleasure ~Welcome to the Front Line Party~" omnibus, and released a few more demos throughout 1993. By early 1994, however, Akira and original guitarist Ume left, and Akira was soon replaced by Ida. Ume was not known to have been replaced, and Banana Fish was reportedly active for a few more months as a trio. However, Banana Fish presumably disbanded by late 1995. The only member of the last Banana Fish lineup to move onto other projects was Ida, who joined the obscure indies band, Spark Sparks. When Spark Sparks eventually disbanded, Ida then retired from the visual scene, alongside his fellow Banana Fish bandmates.
