Artist
Bakari Lebby is... kind of a big deal. Born and raised on the streets of Cola town (literally. He was born on Gervais... in the middle of traffic.), he was influenced by the jazz, honking and street preaching that resonate through the streets of downtown. He soon learned how to play the keytar because he found one at Goodwill. Many residents heard the ambient sounds of his key and guitar playing and were annoyed; they didn't understand the instrument or its player. Lebby soon landed a job at Quizno's; this did not influence his music. His musical career didn't advance until a scout for the University of South Carolina discovered his music at a local high school's Coffee House event. As a result, Lebby became a member of the University's elite keytarist program, earning a Bedekovic Scholarship, a program named for keytarist Belinda Bedekovic which helps keytar students from the streets of Cola.
