Badgers vs Penguins (read: Badgers) are a Croatian four-piece rock group consisting of Aleksandra Nežmahen (vocals, rhythm guitar), Juraj Belošević (solo filler atmos guitar, windbag, improvised instruments), Nikola Erceg (drums and cheers) and Tomislav Vincelj (bass, throbbing backvocals). Their style is a form of alternative rock shoved through a filter of deconstructive soundscapes that may or may not stem from the fact that they couldn't actually play to save their lives. They owe a lot to the prog rocks greats, especially in light of their heavy handed yet charming artistic escapades. The Badgers started tormenting the world in late 2008, when Nežmahen, Belošević & Tomislav Vincelj (bass, harmonica, throbbing backing vocals) decided to start a rock band. Because, really, if punk bands could do it, anyone could. In late 2009 they played their first gig in Zagreb, recorded it and threw it in the Internet's face. Dubbed "Sax! to have missed this one", the concert can be found here on Last.fm, so click like the wind! Now, bear in mind - that was back in '09. Back then they were still a three-piece group, lacking a solid percussionist. Luckily, in early 2010 they were joined by Nikola Erceg who, for some reason, wanted to lend his drum-banging skills to the band. How could they say no? Now they stride, apart yet together (or is it the other way around?), towards a bright musical future. Or was it "comical"? I forget. User-contributed text is available under the Creativ
