Badesalz were a comedy duo from the German state of Hesse. They were founded in the early 1980s by Henni Nachtsheim and Gerd Knebel under the name Badesalz-Theater and initially pursued the project only as a side activity. At the time, both were primarily engaged in other professional work: Nachtsheim sang and played saxophone in the band Rodgau Monotones, while Knebel was a singer and founding member of the band Flatsch. Their first official performance under the name Badesalz is reported to have taken place on December 24, 1982, at the Sinkkasten venue in Frankfurt. In 1992, Badesalz also appeared at the music festival "Rock am Ring." Over the years, they hosted three sketch comedy television series, including "Och Joh" (1990, Das Erste), "Comedy-Stories" (1999–2000, Sat.1), and a 2007 show on Comedy Central, also titled "Badesalz." On March 28, 1998, the duo appeared on the television program "Wetten, dass..?" User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
