BackStory with the American History Guys is a weekly radio show and podcast that seeks to connect current issues in the United States to similar concerns and events in the American past. The show's co-hosts are three historians who each specialize in a different century: Peter Onuf (18th century), Ed Ayers (19th century), and Brian Balogh (20th century). The producer is Tony Field. Listeners are invited to call in with questions. The hosts interview experts, and there are occasional short narrative segments. Listeners are also invited to pitch ideas for future shows.
