BRUCEALONE is really called Bruce Manville.He lives in the north west of England.But his "roots"are still firmly planted "Down south" where his family lived, until he was fifteen years of age. After moving to Skipton,Yorkshire .... In 1975,his world was "shattered"in a way,that life would never be the same again.His sister Julie,was killed by a speeding motorist.The untimely death of his Grandpa,several years earlier,and the suicide of a close family friend,had a profound effect on Bruce's life.Shortly after Julies death,his Father found him a local band.After hearing his renditions of "Love hurts"(the Jim Capaldi version)and "Love is the drug"(Roxy Music)...not to mention "Tie a yellow ribbon"(yes please don't mention that one!)Bruce's musical career began. The band "Blue Touch"toured the clubs,in the north of England ,for some time,with a degree of success.They produced their own single called "winter Love".But musical differences split the band.This lead to the birth of "Bruce and Samantha"...Samantha being Bruce's youngest sister.They achieved success on the "club scene",singing to audiences large and small,all over the country.But Samantha was not really interested in the type of music that Bruce chose for their performances.It was during this period that he started writing his own material.A "sideline"rather than a means to get noticed.For 3 years or so,it seemed that music was going to be the "making"of him.After joining a band called "Rainbow bridge"things began to
