Oslo’s folk-punk institution Bøyen Beng was formed in 1987 and still play once in a while. The band originated in the sqautting scene and was especially connected to the Blitz squat. They play hard and fast punk, sporting an ever present “folksy” fiddle, and with words that voice the concerns of the streets. Despite the changes in the movement to which the band belongs and several line-up changes, Bøyen Beng has proved its longevity and for their dedicated following they are still a true voice to be reckoned with.
