Barbara „Bára“ Basiková (* February 17 1963) is a Czech singer. Bára started her career in 1980s, first as a backup singer and later as lead singer of Martin Němec's band Precedens. With Precedens, she also released her debut album, Doba Ledová. In the same year she joined Michal Pavlíček's group Stromboli. Her first solo album (self-titled) was released in 1991. Later in the 1990s, her and Martin Němec started very succesful Basic Beat, they released two studio albums and one live album. She also tried songwriting on her 1996 album Lhát se musí. Later on, she did albums in latin (mostly christian songs) and also started her musical theatre career (she and her coworkers did the first musical in Czech republic), when she performed in Jesus Christ Superstar (Rusalka, Kleopatra, and many more). In 2005, she re-joined Precedens for the Aurora album. She re-joined them once more in 2013, on their 30th anniversary concert in Prague. Her latest album was released in 2018.
