There at least six artists with the name Aviator; 1.) Aviator was a hard rock group formed in New York in 1984 by guitarist, singer and song writer Ernie White formerly of the New Jersey super group "Sam The Band", guitarist Richie Cerniglia, bass player Steve Vitale, and drummer Michael Ricciardelli. 2.) Aviator is an alternative/hardcore band from Boston, MA, formed in late 2009. The band's sound evolved notably as they released a multitude of EPs, splits and singles over the years, culminating in their signing to No Sleep Records in 2014. Their debut full-length Head in the Clouds, Hands in the Dirt was released August 19, 2014 on LP, CD & digital formats, followed by extensive touring in the US and overseas. The followup album is expected be released in summer 2017. Aviator currently consists of vocalist TJ Copello, guitarist Mat Morin, guitarist/vocalist Michael Russo, drummer Aviv Marotz and bassist/vocalist Mike Moschetto, who took the place of original bassist Tommy Regan in March 2011. 3.) Aviator was also a short-lived progressive/art rock band comprised of Jack Lancaster (Blodwyn Pig), Clive Bunker (Jethro Tull, Blodwyn Pig), John G. Perry (Caravan, Quantum Jump) and Mick Rogers (Manfred Mann's Earth Band). One look at their pedigrees was enough to understand that Aviator was something very special, yet they did not achieve the same success as with their previous efforts.
