Auke Anthony Hulst (born 20 May 1975 in Hoogezand-Sappemeer, The Netherlands) is a Dutch novelist, journalist and musician. He published six novels, three non-fiction books and six albums of music: an English-language album {album artist=Sponsored by Prozac]The Hidden Shape, 2009) under the moniker Sponsored by Prozac, two with his Dutch-language band De Meisjes, a collaboration with Corrie van Binsbergen and two singer-songwriter albums under his own name. Hulst created several literature/mucic crossover projects. 2009 saw the release of the novel Wolfskleren ('Wolf's Clothes'). Its release coincided with the launch of a rock album under Hulst's Sponsored by Prozac moniker. In 2016 Hulst presented the documentary series, Von Amsterdam each Odessa, for the ARTE network. He also wrote the music for the series, which was released as Amsterdam - Odessa (2016). Hulst's 2017 book of stories about music and travel, Motel Songs, was accompanied by an album of the same name: Motel Songs (2017). December 2021 saw the release of Auke Hulst's second album under his own name: A Most Present Absence.
