AMF started as a punk/rock band not because they were all into the punk sound, but more because they were incapable of playing something (more difficult) else! In the years that followed, and after bandmembers going on and off, their sound has evaluated to a more original metal/groove feel with more other musical influences of different music styles, something that also was more possible when AMF had recruited Arno Roos (drums) - someone with his trademarks more in the trash/speed metal genre - and the brother of Jim, Mike Bieler (guitar) a person with his roots in different musical genres. AMF had reached the peak of musical intensity when they finally released their debut cd in 1999 called The Dominant Style For many listeners of this album it was a welcome, overwhelming musical trip of a band with a sound that was not limited by playing only one heavy style. Soon when the cd was released, it immediately caused for a wave of very positive reviews in the Dutch media like big magazines as Het OOr and Aardschok, but also other European countries and even Japan (great review in Burn magazine) had contributed to the growing popularity of AMF. They split up in 2005. Singer Jim Bieler announced he'll start a punk band called The Drive-by Vendettas. Jim Bieler is the son of Wim Bieler. he
