Atomic Ape catapults your ears into an unpredictable universe of swirling musical mayhem, creating thrilling cinematic adventures and psychedelic cartoons in your mind's eye. Led by classically trained, composer/multi-instrumentalist, Jason Schimmel (Estradasphere, Secret Chiefs 3), Atomic Ape brings progressive rock, balkan folk, klezmer-jazz, surf rock and more into a smorgasbord of heavily orchestrated, tight, odd-metered, fast-paced compositions with wild improvisations and complex arrangements. Their live sound comes equipped with a mini-arsenal of instrumentalists including: guitar, bouzouki, accordion, sax, trumpet, bass, and drums. Their debut record, Swarm, an über-produced tour-de-force, is being released on Mimicry Records in early 2014 followed by a tour opening for the legendary band, Secret Chiefs 3.
