Founded in late 2011 by guitarist Josh Curl, Asyla began as a melodic death metal act, but under a different name. As time progressed, members changed. With new members came a new sound, and new potential. Josh recruited local guitarist Keith Smith as the second guitarist in Asyla. Keith had found relative fame on youtube for his originals, and brought just the right attitude for Asyla. The two later brought drummer Dakota Maksimovitch into the mix. And after much time searching, Asyla recruited vocalist Robert Dooley, which brought the group to a whole new level. - Instrumentals comparable to the likes of As I Lay Dying, Miss May I, Caliban, and The Autumn Offering. Vocal delivery reminiscent of The Devil Wears Prada, Bring Me The Horizon, Oh Sleeper, and Silent Civilian.
