In the late 80's/early 90's, Eric Degenhardt and Forrest (Bernie) Palmer Jr. were High School buddies who shared a love for the Arena Rock bands of the era...and embarked on a Journey (no pun intended) to take over the world of Rock. With Eric studying the guitar riff's of EVH and other guitar gods and Bernie (bass) listening to everything from Garth Brooks to Primus to develop his own unique style -- the two posted an ad in a nearby music store, seeking a drummer. Todd Turner, a drummer/vocalist attending Clemson Univ., answered the ad. The trio held practices in a hot, humid attic (in the garage) of Eric's girlfriend, Jaye. After deciding to do nothing but originals, the group decided to begin it's search for a vocalist. Wow....what a decision that was. The guys hosted probably 40 different wannabes, with none really fitting the bill. Fast-forward about 3 years, as the band trudged onward, still hopeful of finding that one guy to finish out the group. The guys had developed 50 - 60 original tunes, yet still no one to sing them. That's when someone suggested that Todd take over vocals and the band search for a drummer. He reluctantly agreed, though being much more comfortable "behind the kit," and worrying that the chemistry of the music would change. The guys posted another ad for a drummer, and after trying-out dozens, chose Kristen Isaac.
